North Coast Forays at Salt Point St. Park Schedule Fall/Winter 2023-2024

WAM Foray Leader David Campbell, Julie Schreiber, and the WAM staff, lead a series of wild mushroom forays into the fungally fertile woods along the north coast of California.  We hunt seasonally available mushrooms, such as King Boletes, Golden Chanterelles, Oyster Mushrooms, Matsutake, Black Trumpets, Hedgehogs, and more.  After the hunt, edible mushrooms are expertly prepared by Chef Julie, and we share a fine potluck picnic.  Instruction is provided for hunting skills and collecting etiquette, proper handling of wild mushrooms for the table, and the identification characteristics of specimens collected.

Foray Registration:

Tickets are $90/person for adults and $45 for children under 13 (Toddlers no charge.) To register, please notify Julie by email of your interest and then send a check payable to Mycoventures.  Or, you may pay by credit card by clicking on the PayPal button.

Include your name, phone numbers, e-mail address, and the date for which you are registering. If registering with partners or friends, please state their full names as well. Forays usually fill up, so early registration is advised.

WAM North Coast Foray Cancellation Policy:

Full cash refunds or re-schedule options will be available for cancellations made no later than 1 week prior to scheduled WAM north coast forays.  If a cash refund is desired, it must be requested at time of cancellation.  Otherwise, we will assume intent to re-schedule within one year, after which time, the refund offer will expire.

Morel Weekend Forays to the Sierra Nevada

Our Spring weekend forays focus on Morel hunting in the Sierra Nevada, typically conducted during the month of May. Forays include overnight stays, gourmet wild mushroom meals, and expeditions into the wild in search of the wily Morel and other springtime mountain fungi. Recent burn zones are our preference for best Morel activity, and, in light of the vast forested acreage that burned last summer, this year offers unprecedented terrain for our explorations. Morel Foray registration announcement is issued to our MycoVentures mailing list once dates are finalized a couple of months prior to the Foray.'

WAM Foray Cancellation Policy:

Cancellation of registrations for WAM Weekend Morel Forays must be made no later than 2 weeks prior to the scheduled activity in order to qualify for a full refund.  Full refund will also be made in event of alternative registrants filling vacated roster spots in event of late cancellation.  Re-scheduling to a future Morel Foray may be possible, but is not guaranteed, and will be considered on a case by case basis.  

Any monetary refunds for cancelled forays participation will be issued in the form in which they were paid, i.e. check or PayPal, etc, and will be subject to a $25 processing fee.
